Hipster Games

Alright. Well guys. It might possibly be another Sunday night where I have a good couple hours of reading to do for my classes tomorrow. And I might be taking a break from Facebook--I mean, studying to write this post. Okay wait, yes. I really meant a break from Facebook, and Pinterest, annnnnd also online shopping--because I mean, it's so exhausting keeping up with all these social media sites these days.

And yeah, so what if I just bought myself a new pair of Ray-Bans when I saw that Coastal was having an amazing sale on them tonight? I was really online only browsing and had no intention of buying, but as I clicked on a cute black pair a message alerted me that they had just sold out of the frame that very moment. And what can I say?! I panicked. Isn't that how all online shopping goes?

Suddenly in my head I was picturing a million hipsters online madly placing orders like there was no tomorrow. I also briefly might have pictured them fighting for a pair all hunger games style in their skinny jeans and Tom's while simultaneously instagramming the whole thing. But if questioned about that I will definitely deny it.

But please for visual aid... meet the newest stars of The Hipster Games. I don't know about you but I think I'll sponsor the "Document of the Dead" guy.

So anyway, I did what any true Ray-Ban admirer would have done, and not to mention did.

I ran downstairs like there was a fire, reassured my startled family that I was fine as I ran around looking for my purse like a lunatic--in the very least, a Ray-Ban sale loving lunatic. I'm pretty sure I ran around faster than I've run all week--let's be honest-- so extra points for the cardio. Do you think that counts as part of my interval training??

Anyway, credit card found. Order placed. And well, chalk up a win to the awkward runner over here for procrastinating her homework and beating out all those overeager online hipsters from buying out all the Ray-Bans.

Although, I might be experiencing a little shopping guilt right about now. So in an effort to pretend like its okay to have made that impulse buy even though I have a major tuition bill due next week I will change the subject.

In case anyone was interested, there may be local opportunities in your community to volunteer for the Hipster Games. To find out more please visit: http://how-to-be-a-hipster.com

In all seriousness though, it is a legit site. So please, by all means, check it out...

Confessions Of An Awkward Runner

Today. I am back on the wagon.

Sort of.

Alright, maybe I'm not exactly ON it. But at least I'm chasing after it-- which is better anyways right? At least fitness wise because when I say chasing after it I mean, literally chasing after it. All out of breath and sweaty and probably making a face like this...

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKhHNgDxUdV03OXLdUBJmh0I-MHiFJdB0tHGuOU8lHBlg0xZ_PskMYXLbmJ79-fS_MBccXF7odprNmhDRTSVW8D8d-kERW1_WUaw1XcHGOHwVB-Ab-s4z4L5t76j-GSyLF2Mkm373xT0xH/s400/whats-bubble-girl-running-from-19878-1252774844-2.jpg

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder... so behold! In my eyes this is how I see myself looking while I run...

Any disagreements?

I didn't think so.

But actually--let's be real-- who smiles like that running? Please tell me because smiling is the LAST thing on my mind when I run. Wanna know the first thing on my mind?! Stopping. Kinda like (okay a lot like) these guys...

But... you know, on the bright side. They are probably getting some good tanning time passed out like that. Just as long as someone comes along and turns them over periodically.

So for future reference, if you ever get to see this sight first hand, help a girl out and grab me a beach towel while your at it, okay?

Tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, No, No"

Well guys.

[Or really just the three people that somehow manage to read these ramblings...]

You know how sometimes you "forget" to work on your goals?

Did you notice those " " around forget?

Now you did.

I'm not very good at subtlety... can you tell?

The point is... I've been slacking lately.

And eating a little too much of these...

Does this count as a confession??

They say that's the first step to recovery.

Which led to my next thought...

Do they have cookie rehab?

No seriously.

And in all seriousness...

I'm writing this "publicly"

(okay well, however publicly it counts to those three readers I was talking about earlier)

... to make sure I get back on track.

On a side note.

Look at my cute hat.

And while you're at it... please also note how the black and white filter makes me look way cooler (not to mention way more abused with my two black eyes) than I could ever dream of being.

Yeahhhh.... I might be putting all my frustrations from failing at everything else in my life into shopping for items I don't really need at Target.

Like everyday.

Maybe
.

It's called retail therapy and you shouldn't judge.

And lets face it retail therapy is a lot better than the cookie rehab I suggested earlier.

Because that's just silly and cookie rehab doesn't actually exist.

I checked.

But if it did.

I should be called Cookie Monsters Anonymous.

With the motto,"Don't get caught with your hand in the cookie jar"
